An Unexpected Place

A child pulling each hand, eager to play,
until I said “Hang on, Look this way”,
For that moment time stood still.
The noise from other children around,
turned to silence,
there wasn’t a sound.
Our eyes now fixed to the place where it sat,
“What do you think of that?”
A tiddly red ladybird,
warm in the sun,
with 6 black spots,
we counted each one.
We looked and smiled and said “Hello”,
to which it replied “Time to go”,
Off it flew to another space,
to give someone else a lovely moment in
