A selection of art, music, language, film, food, maps (including google earth), history, the natural world, folk tales and facts, these workshops will be varied in approach, using a range of materials and resources – eg iPads, worksheets, arts and crafts, stories, books, recipes …

Week 3 – Cuba

Discover Cuban salsa and rumba dancing, make a rumba shaker, learn about the Tody bird, explore sugar plantations, introduce yourself in Spanish and make authentic lemonade. This workshop will also include an introduction to the history of slavery

Open to age 9-13, these workshops take place at YMCA, Weston-super-Mare, and are priced at £5 per child (plus £4 per additional sibling).
Book on all four workshops for £16 (£30 for 2 siblings)

There is a cafe at YMCA Weston, where parents are able to sit (with younger kids too) or Grove Park is across the road. It’s in the centre of town, close to the shops and beach, with lots of parking available. The train station is a 10 minute walk away.
