Theatre @ The Bay

Westonians, it’s time to get excited because part of the former Tropicana on Marine Parade is about to become a pop-up theatre. In the recent Dismaland gallery (the indoor bit, where the Damian Hirsts, Jimmy Cauty et al were), a stage has been erected, chairs placed, Christmas trees decorated, a heater installed and a bar opened! Theatre Orchard have been working with North Somerset Council’s Seafront and Events team to bring us some brilliant tried and tested, affordable theatre over the coming months.

The pop-up season kicks off this Friday (11th December) with Nutshell Nutcracker, a magical show for those aged 4 and upwards that’s perfect for December.

We’ve been to take a look around the venue and it’s really easy now to visualise how it’s all going to work. We bumped into Weston’s Nutty Noah too and he’ll be doing one of his madcap performances on 29th December.
