Letting Go

Oh My God!! It’s Stopped!! No Warning!! It just wasn’t there and nor did she want it to be. Suddenly, I was forced to face up to the fact that my little girl was all grown up. In that one moment!! Ahh Just One!! A tiny moment in such a busy day and blimey it was busy! and there it was, small … but gigantic!

I sighed and stood frozen to the spot looking at it and drifted into a daydream, where I found myself in Accident and Emergency. There was obviously something hugely wrong… and after several examinations by a very sympathetic nurse, an x-ray and a cup off coffee I returned to the waiting room and awaited the results. Just as I was beginning to Google my symptoms the nurse called ‘Mrs. Smith!’ and beckoned me through to her room. There was a chair, so I didn’t sit on the floor. She began ‘There is nothing wrong with it in a medical sense Mrs. Smith. It looks absolutely fine, no breaks, cracks, bruises or lumps and it’s nice and warm ‘… she paused … ‘However’ she went on, holding my hand and giving me that knowing look that there was indeed bad news to come, ‘we noticed something’ … she paused again … ‘it could appear to be… rather embarrassing?’  She gave me a leaflet…

Beep … Beep … Beep … Beep … The red man got happy again and turned green so we crossed the road. My hand warm, but empty.

Apart from that we had a wonderful day and both children are suitably exhausted!
